Privacy
We hold as little about you as the site can function with, which is almost nothing.
Readers
There are no accounts, no logins and no advertising cookies. We do not profile you across sites and we do not sell anything about you to anyone.
We use Google Analytics to count visits and see which pages are read. It sets its own cookies in your browser and sends Google the pages you view, your approximate location and your device type. We have switched off Google's advertising features, so this is not used to show you ads. Beyond that, your browser stores only what is needed to display a page.
If you write to us
A suggestion or correction is stored with whatever you put in it. Email is optional, and is used only to tell you what happened to your request. Ask us to delete it and we will.
If you claim a profile
To claim a profile you put a one-time code in your public X bio or YouTube channel description. We store the claim: which profile and account it is for, the code, its status and dates, your email and note if you give them, and a hash of your connection's IP address. The hash is salted and changes every day; it is used only to limit how many claims one connection can start in an hour, and it cannot be turned back into your address. We never store your private link, only a fingerprint of it, so we cannot send it to you again.
To check the code, an automated script reads your public profile once or twice, either directly from the platform or through a data provider (Apify) that fetches the public profile for us. We read nothing that is not public, and we never ask for access to your account.
A reply you send is stored, checked automatically and, if it passes, published on your profile as written, with its date. Your email and note are never published.
How long: a claim that expires or is not approved is deleted 30 days after it closes, with any reply that was not published. IP hashes are cleared from every claim and reply after 30 days. An approved claim is kept for as long as the profile shows it as claimed, because it is the record of how ownership was shown. Ask us to delete your claim, your reply or just your email, and we will; deleting an approved claim removes the Claimed badge and the reply with it. Claiming, keeping or deleting a claim never changes the grade.
The people we rate
Profiles are built from public posts, public follower counts and public channel information, collected from the platforms those people chose to publish on. We do not collect private messages, contact details, location beyond what a profile states publicly, or anything behind a login.
A rated subject can ask what we hold about them, ask for a correction, or ask us to publish their reply. Removal is a separate question: a rating is editorial comment on public activity, and we consider requests case by case.
