Corrections and right of reply
Anyone can challenge anything on this site, including the people we rate. Corrections are made in public.
What to send
A request is easier to act on when it identifies the specific claim rather than the overall verdict.
- The page, and the exact statement or figure in dispute.
- What you believe is correct.
- Anything that supports it: a link, a screenshot with a date, a post we have missed.
What happens next
Every request is read by a person. We check the claim against our own records and against the original source where one exists.
We acknowledge a request within three working days and decide it within fourteen. If a decision needs longer, we say so and why before the fourteen days are up.
- Received. The request is logged.
- Under review. We are checking it against the evidence.
- Evidence requested. We need something more specific to act on.
- Upheld. The page is corrected, and the change is noted on it.
- Declined. The evidence supports what is published, and we say why.
What a correction cannot do
Disagreeing with a grade is not itself grounds to change it. If the underlying evidence is right and the method was applied correctly, the grade stands, and we will explain which part of the record produced it.
A rated subject may always have their reply published alongside the rating, whether or not the rating changes.
Where to send it
Use the suggestion form, naming the profile and the claim. A public log of requests and outcomes will be published once there are decisions to record.
