Editorial independence

Nobody can buy a grade, request one, or approve one before it is published. This page explains what stands behind that.

How the site is funded

It is not. TradeGrade carries no advertising, no sponsored placements, no affiliate links and no paid listings, and it sells nothing to the people it rates. There is no commercial relationship to disclose because there are none.

If that changes, this page changes first, and any relationship with a rated subject will appear on that subject's profile.

How a rating is produced

Grades come from a scoring engine reading archived public evidence. The weights are published on the methodology page, and each profile shows the points each factor earned and how much of the score has been measured.

  • No subject is contacted for approval before publication.
  • No subject can pay to be added, removed, or re-scored.
  • Where the evidence is too thin to support a letter, the profile reads NR rather than guessing.
  • Editorial judgement is limited to what evidence is admitted, never to the score that evidence produces.

What we publish about people

Ratings are opinion formed from evidence, and every claim on a profile is either a count from our own records or a quote with a link to its source. We do not publish assessments of someone's character, and we do not publish anything about private individuals who do not comment publicly on markets.
