MQL5 Signals is the official signal marketplace built into MetaTrader 4 and MetaTrader 5, the world's most widely used retail trading platforms. Being integrated at the platform level gives it unmatched distribution (millions of MT4/MT5 users). Performance statistics come from broker execution data through the MetaTrader infrastructure. However, the marketplace allows demo accounts as signal sources without always making this distinction clear to subscribers. Quality control is minimal, anyone can list a signal, leading to a marketplace flooded with low quality or short-lived strategies. The platform is operated by MetaQuotes (Cyprus), which also profits from broker licensing fees, creating potential conflicts.
